AFTER IMAGE

Several years ago, I inherited a dozen or so family photo albums from the late 19th century through the 1960s. These albums and the question of "What to do" with them suggested a project challenge in regard to content in my artist-made books. How to use, or re-use these familiar images and why would they connect to an audience were questions I asked pertaining to my own artistic intention.

Subsequently, I have studied various techniques of transferring a photographic image to a surface through book arts and printmaking workshops. These technical skills then facilitated the opportunity to work directly with photographic images in a new way.
