MIGRATORY PATTERNS
A continuing project involving printmaking, painting, dyed and folded papers and sewing centers on the complexity of permanence and dislocation/re-location. Having lived my life in the urban environment and the Lake Michigan shore has made me aware of the presence of nature as a constant, yet ever-changing force. Migratory patterns of waterfowl that I observed during a period of time living on a river became inspiration for the theme of this body of work.
The women in my family share a long tradition of quilt-making and sewing garments, which I carry on with stitched and dyed mulberry papers and collage.
